The official language of the Conference is English. Up to 3 sessions will be held in parallel: Main Auditorium, Room 1 (Noble Hall) and Room 2 (PhD Dissertation Room).

Allard Lecture - Right after the opening ceremony, Thursday morning, October 3 .

Ernsting panel - Early afternoon on Thursday. A panel of experts specially brought together to discuss a topic of great current interest for the international aviation and space medicine professional community.

Ayres de Montenegro Conference - Early afternoon on Friday. This is the SMAPor Portuguese Aerospace Medicine Society annual eponymous conference with an international speaker on a hot topic.

The Joint Portugal-Brazil Aerospace Medicine Societies Conference will be held in Portuguese in a fourth parallel room (Dean's Room) on Friday afternoon. The slides presented will be in English.

The Iberian Conference will be held in Portuguese and Spanish in a fourth parallel room (Dean's Room) on Saturday afternoon. The slides presented will be in English.

An ESAM Refresher course for AMEs will be held on Saturday morning, (AME refresher credit hours awarded for attendance).

    A visit to the Portuguese Air Force Air Museum, celebrating the Centennial of the First Portugal–Macau air crossing.
    Location: Sintra Air Base (33 km approx. from central Lisbon)
    Duration: 4 hrs approx.

    • To explore actual ATCO workstations and visualise aircraft movements on radar in real time.

A – Pre-Congress Portuguese Air Force Workshop on Aircraft Safety and Accident and Incident Investigation, all day.

    Description: This workshop is designed mainly for AMEs who want to learn about the concepts and techniques that are necessary for the conduction of air safety investigations. Special attention will be given to understanding the process of aircraft incident and accident investigation, aiming to improve safety and prevent occurrences. The workshop will include a rotary wing aircraft accident simulation exercise, as well as case studies from real scenarios at the investigations lab.
